Reconnecting After Lost Access

Why Might I Lose Access to the Community?

While Discord has postponed age verification measures until the second half of 2026, we can expect some kind of verification to be rolled out in the near future. While it is possible that the verification system they devise will prove superior to their last attempt, it may also not. We know from beta testers and partial roll-out that their last attempt at an age verification system marked several completely safe-for-work communities as NSFW and prevented long-time members from further access, with no recourse. This included servers for such innocuous topics as baking.

Given the current US animus toward queer people, there is an entirely realistic chance that our server will get labeled as NSFW, regardless of the contents, in order to prevent teens from accessing it (we don't allow minors, but whatever AI they use to determine the contents of a server will not know or care about our rules). In this case, any person who values their privacy and refuses to comply with age verification requirements (uploading an ID or doing a video scan of their face) will lose access to the server and, therefore, the community.

If it becomes clear that the server has been marked NSFW, I will begin the process of moving the community to a more suitable platform. As soon as that process is started, I will add more information to the Migration Status section below about where the community is moving along with an invite to join, so that people can immediately move to the new location.

Report Loss of Access

If you're an existing community member and have lost access to the server due to age verification difficulties (or other Discord related reasons), please contact me via one of the following methods to let me know about the changes to the community's accessibility. If unrelated to age verification, I may be able to help you regain access.
